The use of social media as Twitter, Instagram and Facebook to reach our target audience of BeerMe

The use of social media is an important tool for companies to be known. Because we wanted to make BeerMe more famous in Ireland, especially Dublin, we create social media accounts in different networks.


Twitter has become an important channel of communication between company and client. It has a great ability to disseminate content. This social network has millions of users willing to read and share the contents that most interest them. Therefore, having a presence on Twitter and doing it well can help to give more visibility to our messages.

We choose Twitter, the network known for its 140-character messages, because is a perfect platform, for our B2C business. It allows to actively listen to our users. People love to comment, and even more on a social network like Twitter. This can be a great advantage since it can quickly see what post do they like and what they do not. Also to, identify problems in the business or interact directly with our target audience.

Twitter has a very heterogeneous audience, is not a social network with a closed and defined target, such as Snapchat or LinkedIn. Furthermore, it is a good source of traffic to our website. On Twitter, we can share our website articles and generate visits to it.

On Twitter, it is necessary to monitor the conversations in order to respond to users and help solve their need. To accomplish a good twitter account for our business we followed these tips:


We made a short list of keywords by which our BeerMe users can find us.


Search for these keywords on Twitter to see what is said about them.


We took action and we interacted with users who talk about these topics that interest you by retweeting their tweets and marking their tweets as favourites.


In each tweet we used several hashtags to become more famous on Twitter.


The use of Hashtags in tweets and Instagram posts is very important for the growth of the business in the platform. It is possible to use popular hashtags or some own ones. We used popular hashtags, as #beers, #brewery, #welovebeer, #beerlovers. Also, because is beneficial to make hashtags with the company name to create brand awareness, we insert some like #BeerMe and #BeerMeBrewery.

Furthermore, tweeting with hashtags gives the opportunity to promote anything from your brand to your next special event. For example for BeerMe Brewery Instagram account we used a festival event for one of our posts and we personalized hashtags for it.

When you are using hashtags is necessary to not use spaces between words, only characters before a space will have the hyperlink. We also use hashtags when they are relevant to the rest of the Tweet. Using a hashtag to get positive attention is a good way to get followers but if you use it wrong you will lose them.



Nowadays, Instagram has become one of the social networks of reference and focus of attention for companies who know all the possibilities offered to them to make visible their products, services and social media recognition. At the end of last year, the 25 million business profiles on Instagram were exceeded.

According to the latest report of the consultancy ComScore, Instagram managed to place an average of 136,000 followers per brand only in 2017. Currently, it has more than 700 million registered users.

Instagram is one of the most fashionable social networks because is a very versatile platform for users and companies. The advantages of Instagram and why we choose it to be our third social network is because is a social network in constant growth. Moreover, the profile of Instagram users indicates that it is a network that young people are betting on since 65% of its users are under 40 years old. For us, this is elemental due to our target personas. We are trying to reach customers of 21-35 age.

Apart from this, the studies show that Instagram users are much more active than those of other social networks. Instagram is a social network that focuses its success on the use of the smartphone, which affects the possibilities of direct communication with the customer.

It is an eminently visual social network where video and images are the principal part of any strategy. This is the reason we try to post images that could persuade people to follow us and to go to our website.

Because we know the importance of the impact of Instagram on our target audience, we created an account to create branding, to make users engaged with our brand. We create a specific colour to fit our company style and our corporate image, to make it easier for users to get to know us and our identify your brand. We also searched for the hashtags that are most used in this market and used them in our publications to attract new customers to our profile.



Facebook has 1,700 million users, which 1,300 million are active daily. It is also the largest social network in the world. So, it is very likely that a large number of customers are browsing it. Due to this, it can be said that Facebook is an efficient method to generate website traffic, conversions and sales.

Facebook may be a social network that looks more on a personal level, but the truth is that it has great potential for companies. Using Facebook for small businesses means having an already defined content strategy. The first step for a business is to set up a Facebook page because this is the kind of page that Facebook recommends for business.

Another very interesting resource for business is Facebook Ads. Even though we did not use it, we think is a good idea for possible future social media plan for BeerMe. To get more engagement on our Facebook page it can be helpful the traditional advertisement and the sponsored story. Both types of ads have the functionality of giving visibility to the page or to an external website and tend to be able to attract more fans.
